New Zealand now has more electricity retailers than ever before, which means customers can get good deals.
It’s worth looking at www.whatsmynumber.org.nz to compare the different options available. You could save more than a $100 each year. If you don’t have access to the internet, ask your local Citizens Advice Bureau to check your options for you.
Once you’ve checked, you can switch retailers or chat to your current retailer and see if they can offer you a sharper deal. Also talk to them about the different plans available and the options they offer for payment.Some retailers are now offering pre-pay, smoothed or weekly payment terms.
Shopping around can make sure you’re not paying more than you should for your power.
